Kathryn Joiner has 17 years of experience in building design. She worked for a custom home builder in the Southern Maine area for 7 years prior to establishing her own firm. Kathryn is a Certified Professional Building Designer in the state of Maine under the institution of AIBD (American Institute of Building Design) and is professionally insured. She has over 900 homes and additions to her credit and is current on the latest building codes. She has also designed several small commercial buildings which include handicapped accessibility and public safety issues.
Kathryn is currently serving as president of the AIBD Massachusetts Society and is on the board of directors for the Maine Building Officials and Inspectors Association (MBOIA). She is also one of the 3 representatives from Maine for region 6 (New England and New York) for the International Code Council.
Jeff Joiner is Revelwood Designs' part-time business manager, bringing more than 17 years of experience in project management and electrical controls engineering.
Kathryn and Jeff received degrees from Vermont Technical College in 1985 in the fields of architectural engineering and electrical engineering, respectively. Both continued their educations and in 1996 received Bachelor of Science degrees in Applied Technical Education from the University of Southern Maine, summa cum laude. Kathryn and Jeff both have experience as technical instructors in their respective fields. Kathryn has taught architectural design at Southern Maine Technical College and drafting at the University of Southern Maine. Jeff has taught blueprint interpretation at Central Maine Technical College. He also developed and instructed "The Architecture of Automation" for the microelectronics program at Southern Maine Technical College.
